working days.

I hardly had time for myself these few days because I started work on Monday. I'm currently a typical office personnel, wearing office wear(shirt and pants), sitting in front of the desktop, facing numbers, datas as well as documents. Well, I was quite looking forward to it because it was my first ever job. SurpriseD? Well, dont be. 


I regretted not working after my 'A' level days, because I really wanted to enjoy myself before I enter the army. I should have worked la. Well, I'm glad and thankful that I'm being offered this job, as I got to know a few more people, and this is also a good exposure for me.

Working life can be considered as good as being tied down. Your time is now restricted, no more time to do extra stuffs that you like to do, no more time to sleep late, and wake up late. Lead the life of a typical adult!


One thing great about my job is there are shuttle buses provided from different locations in Singapore! It's so convenient that we won't be late for work and we won't have to work overtime if we are rushing for bus. lol. Save quite alot on transport fee! 


After work yesterday, I met Y and T at marina square for dinner, it's quite funny because all 3 of us work at tampines area and we went town instead. Well, the dinner was great. Met P at his workplace at MBS and we went on to watch show! Nice. 


Got to know my colleagues and boss better and they are all nice people. I'm so happy and grateful to have them as my working partners.

Car-Los 21st birthday!

Yippee! Here's another birthday post. Yes, the last consecutive birthday before the next birthday. I'm like so going broke. The dinner was on 24 March, Thursday. C had quite a hard time planning for this because now is the period where everyone is busy with work, studies etc. Also, the working offers differ respectively. So glad that we actually can meet up on this special night to celebrate with this dear friend. 
 
For this birthday, we have decided to save on the cake, so we bought him a cup cake instead. It tastes delicious, i guess. :)

When C told me that we were going to CMPB for the birthday dinner, I was like "HUH? GO CMPB FOR DINNER?". Guys should know that CMPB is a place where pre-enlistees go to do their body checkups, so my mind was so filled with nurses, doctors, army personnels, medical apparatus, weighing machines, and whatnot. Lol. Funny eh?

How was your weekend?

Woosy Midnight.

It's 2am now and I'm still awake. Just finished preparing a script for programme planned for the SOKA discussion meeting on Sunday. It was a rather chim article, I took quite some time to decipher the geez of the article, but I guess I'm okay. Hopefully the script does turn out well and I hope the comrades will learn as much as they can while we present. 


I'm at orchard hotel now, all thanks to my parents, for a 3D2N stay voucher (don't know how they managed to get the voucher though), but I'm feeling super cold!

Life's like plants, no matter how extreme the weather conditions are, they still must know how to protect themselves and grow strong. 

How hard did you try to get yourself to the world? Isn't it right to face life with a positive mindset and with a smile on your face everyday? Live life to the full man. :)

ORD Meet-Up

Days after I ORD-ed, we finally get to meet up with each other again on this very day! 22nd march signifies the 1st gathering of VTW after we all ORD-ed. Although some didn't turn up, but we were still glad to see everyone coming together and share with each other how all of us are doing now. Some are working, some are slacking, some are still looking for jobs, some are studying. 

The meet-up was with Superior X at Marina Square's Manhattan Fish Market. I don't know why people do not like going to places like Manhattan Fish Market or Fish & Co, I like the food there! It's not wise to keep going to these kind of restaurants currently, every time I go, I will be  spending around $20. i can't afford these anymore(although still can la) , cause I've got no income, I do not want to tap onto my savings :(. I need to settle for a job soon man. 


Superior missed all of us, and of cause we missed him too. So the meetup i thought was rather necessary. Kudos to those who came.. boo to those who didnt. :)

SOKA Kenshu 2011

I could have done alot of things during this weekend but I chose to attend this annual study camp. It was truly beneficial and I'm glad and grateful that I've learnt about the camp and had participated in it. 


Joined SMUSD(Singapore Management University Student Division) prolly about 2 months ago, as a Year 0 member, and I've made so many good comrades. The period of 2 months was nothing but fruitful. It has been rather busy because I have to allocate time for the preparation for this event as well as manifest my faith in the religion. By attending more of the Gakkai activities, I have actually accumulate good fortune. Never mind if you don't understand these now, you can come and ask me personally. 


Firstly, every institution was to send 2 representatives to join the Opening Item to kickstart the Kenshu Study Camp. The main objective of the Opening Item is to set off the right tone and the right morale and the right attitude for the programme. Without hesitation, I joined the choir, for the opening item. I'm so glad that I actually joined such an activity because I have met alot of other new friends. How wonderful it is to actually have friends that share the same goals and don't mind any of our shortfalls as well as are willing to help you in any way? The happiness that I've gotten with the comrades are rather hard to describe, and I believe we will all help one another out in any way. 


Before I move on, I shall talk about how enjoyable the choir practices were. From knowing no one from that group, to knowing everyone! We were all willing and very happy to attend all the sessions and we were all set to give in put in our best efforts to actually make this performance a success. The kickstart of the event was rather important because the right mood and morale were required. The initiatives we took to make props, the willingness for everyone to cooperate contributes so much to the performances. Thank you guys so much. I seriously appreciate all of you. 



Now to the Kenshu. This was my first ever time attending a Kenshu Study Camp, look at how engrossed we all were. Listening to the studies, lectures and testimonials seriously puts us all into a different genre of life, holding a different perspectives towards life, carrying out wisdoms and courage towards every single thing we do in life. Nothing could be more enriching :)

My dear SMU comrades, love them loads. It was during tea break and we had to actually rehearse for our 100 seconds performance later at the night. Remembering how impromptu the planning was and how much fun and laughter we all had while planning for that performances, I'm rather glad to be rather bonded with the fellow comrades. 

Day 1 - where we had almost full strength of 13. 


Day 1 ended, and I actually had a good 2 hours talk with our SMUSD in charge, R. This 2 hours had cleared alot of my doubts and I've seriously learnt alot from him. Many things that we learn were from other people's testimonials. And I'm glad that I'm actually putting myself to challenge whatever obstacles that I might face and clarify with our dear leaders. 


After talking to R, i actually went to seek personal guidance from our fellow Senior, further deepen my understanding towards SOKA. :)

Day 2(6 people left) - we had so little sleep and we were supposed to wake up at 0530 hrs. Still, woke up bright and early with so much so much energy. Went to the field near SSA to play games. Great teamwork and spirit! While having our breakfast, we actually tried to think of a song, a cheer, a slogan for our SD, to actually give it an identity. We were quite noisy, perhaps woken all of residents up. You can never believe how high our spirits were. 

Towards the end of the camp, we had this photo taken. The person holding the cert is actually graduating at this very day. We prepared gifts for her and had this photo taken. Hope she will take care and all the best in her future endeavors.

If not for these people, the camp wouldn't have been that fufilling. Thank you our fellow comrades. 


Meanwhile, let's all chant and pray for our fellow comrades who are struggling a hard battle in Japan as well. They are our heros.

Yes, it's friday

Yes, it's friday today again. Oh well, it has already been 1 week since I ORD-ed, and I'm still unemployed! Worrying about money issues now. Well, it's not the case that my current savings are not enough for me to last, but still, I need an income! I don't wan my savings to drop!!


Oh well, went for interviews here and there, and I think I am going to settle for a job very soon. Hopefully these few days. 


Besides busy looking for jobs, I've been actively participating in SOKA activities. I'm so happy to join all these activities, I have made so many new friends and more often than not, these activities are very encouraging. I really enjoyed all these, and also this weekend, I'm going to attend a camp, It will be super fun and enriching. I am set to absorb the most out of it.

S's 21st birthday II

Yes, as promised, I'm going to blog about S's 21st birthday party again since I have already gotten the photos from the photographer of the day, M. The heavily invested camera does wonders. The photos that I'm going to show you later, you will realise that there is a much nicer effect compared to the other photos from other cameras. 

A re-collection of how S's birthday cake looks like. Kinda cool. His moo was quite cute :)

The party of close to 80 people I supposed gathered at the living room, sang a rather loud birthday song to the birthday boy,with balloons, party poopers and what not. Camera flashes at almost every single moment of the party. It was awesome. :)

Aww.. this is the only group photo we took with the birthday boy and the cake. T got blocked :(. Missed my army mates though. Nice people.

I like this photo mainly because I look rather slim. hahaha.. me and my twin and of course our dear P in the middle.

Now with C! Oh shyt, his birthday is coming too... the last consecutive birthdays that Im having. phew. 

Look at how engrossed C and A were while writing their birthday greetings on the greetings board? Hmm. You guys should have taken a look at mine because I specially designed my own greetings. Haha. 

Guessed you people still remembered this. Much better effect yea? Yes, ALL VTW ORD-ED! Woohoo!

That night was a memorable night, and I seriously think it is rather hard to have a "full strength" gathering again since we all had our own commitments, like girlfriends, work, studies etc. Cherish every moment.

Pray for Japan.

11/3 was supposedly a super happy day for me because I'm finally liberated from the green life, converting back to a normal life. However, once I stepped into the house, I was shocked to hear such sad news, coming from Japan. 

The picture you see now is not any rubbish dump or whatever you can think of. This place was a beautiful city about 60 hours ago.Within minutes, the whole city perished under water. 

Look at what happened. It is a tragedy. A tragedy that you and I can never expect or able to understand what the people there are going through. Their homeland, vanished within minutes. They lost contact with all their friends, and relatives. They are on their own, stranded at places. Public transports were forced to stop, many people couldn't get home.


What's worse? If the earthquake and tsunami wasn't bad enough, the nuclear plant explosion may have worsened the whole situation. 

The biggest earthquake to hit Japan on record struck the northeast coast on Friday, triggering a 10-meter tsunami that swept away everything in its path, including houses, ships, cars and farm buildings on fire.

What has happened to the world? Chaos at middle east, flood at Australia, Earthquake at New Zealand and now a gigantic earthquake + tsunami at Japan. 

Please pray hard for these victims and hopefully they get rescued soon. Hopefully the disaster will never happen again and people affected will be settled soon. Pray hard for Japan. 

I really do not understand why people make insensitive comments on facebook saying, we are not going to help Japan out in any way by clicking on facebook pages, so why create the facebook page? 

I think this kind of comments are insensitive. If you guys have the capabilities to go over and help them personally, why didnt you go over? The only basic support we can show is by giving them moral support. The facebook page is created to tell Japan that the world cares. You think it doesn't matter? I think it matters alot. At least people bothered to give moral support, how bout u? You did nothing at all. So please shut up and continue your own life if you don't sympathise with the people who are suffering now. 

Please pray hard for Japan.

Busy busy. These few days, I have been busy looking around for jobs. Although I have already more or less settled for 1, but still, I am looking for better alternatives. This blogpost is gonna be long because today is a special day. Big Big day man. 


But before that.. let's see.

I made a visit to the IT Show yesterday to hunt for a DSLR. I seriously love taking photos and I would like to make it a part time career. But I am looking for a rather good DSLR to start. Any suggestions? Comment please. :)

OK back to main topic - ORD. 


The past two years, I have been spending in camp, counting each days, every single minute or even seconds, for this day to come. All the saikangs, chiongsuas, bonding, fun, laughter we had for the past 2 years were simply unforgettable. 


To all of you out there who had been with me for the past 2 years, in whichever company/unit you are from, really thank you people so much that my army life can be such a colourful one. It's not about passing time, not about just serve and f off. It's about what you and I have been through and how much we have grown. I am glad that I actually stand firm on not taking the easy way out. I guess my sense of achievement and satisfaction on this date is definitely alot more than those who were just going through motion, or rather dont even go through motion at all. 


The process was rather long and troublesome, but still, I waited. For my pink IC to arrive.


In between, met up with my superiors and managed to pass my cards to them. Last words before I leave, I don't even know myself when will I even see them again. My army life is not only about peers, but interesting superiors as well. Had a good talk with them, good laugh. All was good. Glad to see the specs as well before I leave, our chiongsua people. Keep in contact yea.  


After which,  met up with P, Y and D for lunch. Nice nice, the first meal after ORD. I had really wanted to have the last taste of the canteen food before I leave, but I didnt manage to in the end because we decided to go out to eat. Still, it was all nice.

Looking back, it was all good memories, despite whatever unpleasant things that may have happened. I have learnt and grew alot. I am blessed to be able to go through this with a firm mindset. :)

It's Time 是时候

Finally got hold of Stefanie Sun's album! Today is the first day of her release and I was so worried that I could not get it today because usually Singapore's release date will be later by a few days. Oh well, I still tried to call if there are stocks available, until 6pm I called NEX, where I went in the morning to see if its out in stores yet. NEX CD-RAMA comfirmed stocks arrived, and I rushed down, so as to get the album as soon as possible. However to my disappointment, it was out of stock.


OUT OF STOCK WITHIN 20 MINUTES. Can you ever believe that?  I called Compass Point, the album was out of stock as well, then I called United Square, phew~, there are a few copies left. I made reservations and I got there within 20 mins. YES I GOT THE ALBUM!


I'm going to give a full review of this album. It's going to be in mandarin.

S's 21st birthday!!

Told ya I was super busy for the 1st 3 months of this year because I have many of my friends celebrating their 21st! (non-21st included though, I have a friend who was 45 this year.. hmph).


Yes, as promised, as soon as I got hold of the photos, I will blog about S's 21st birthday party!
 
On 5th March, the actual day itself, S held a house party at his suddenly popped up house. Why did I use the term 'suddenly popped up'? it was because no one ever knew S had another house until like maybe 2 months ago. oh well, it's still a rather great place for a party.


The initial state of the house was extremely undesirable. S and his family, accompanied with our help for 1 day,  managed to clear out the mess inside the house. Still, as a good buddy of his, I came over to the house at 3pm to help him decorate his house. 

We spent quite a while to decide how we should position the letters on the wall. J and I had different views, and S kept going around with 'Anything'.. hmm. The overall design was quite nice yea? 

Balloons, of course are a necessity. 


His cake was wonderful. The price he paid for this cake was about half of J's, still it tastes nicer :). Of course, in terms of looks, J's cake won hands down! (Refer to the 1st picture). 

Saw that? We specially positioned the letters just right above his head. I guess we wouldn't have done that if the birthday boy was anybody else :P

After the normal routine of cutting cake, sing song, taking group photographs, we(the army clique) proceeded to the car porch and started cam-whoring! W is officially named the attention-whore. Nvm, shant talk more about him.

And the day ended with playing Wii, not ended for some of them, at least for me. I left at 11 plus and some of them stayed over for overnight mahjong.
